Stormy Morning

Like in my shoot Floods and Feathers, I took these around this time last year aswell. I haven't done much in between then and now, but one of my biggest goals for this year is to begin creating a lot more photographs.

Bow and Arrows

There is something about bows and arrows - archery - that I love. The motion of pulling an arrow from the quiver, setting the arrow in the bow, drawing it back and letting it fly.
The art just fascinates me, not only the art of archery, but also the art of the designs and look and feel of them.
If you were to ask me what weapon I would have in a world of fantasy or back in history, there is not a second of hesitation to my answer. If I could take it up, to be able to do it, to me that would be really awesome. It's almost like a dream.

Melbourne

I love Melbourne.

I like that I can call it my capital city, I have never lived there but hope one day I get to experience it like some of the other people in my family have.

These are photographs from one of the most helpful, inspirational photographers I know of, Julia Trotti, taken on a recent road trip down here. You can see a few more from the trip here.

The atmosphere of some of the places in this city is indescribable. It's like a million stories can flow through my mind, thinking about the people and their lives, all the different buildings and life there, and how mine could be. Doing that is one of my favourite things.

It's been a good first week of this year.

The First

I am so excited for this year. Huge changes, scary changes, new experiences; all I can do is think of it as an adventure that is going to make life better. I know everything is going to turn out for the best.

Going down to the beach then having a big night dancing with friends was a great entrance into the new year, and spending the time relaxing and recovering outside in the summer weather today, thinking about all the things that are going to happen and the things I will be able to do in the near future, gives me more hope.

2012, thankyou for finally promising changes.

This was Christmas

It was so lovely, but it was even more different this year.
I miss that magical feeling, the feeling of knowing it was Christmas, that I always got every single year during December when I was younger.
Sometimes I feel it again, for a few moments. I still love Christmas. 

I'm Coming Back

One of my aims for next year is to get this blog up and going, to get it on a scale I am happy with. I'm going to do it for myself, because this is going to be a hard year, but I want to do it for other people out there, for the same reason as I want to do it for me; to escape and to realise how many gorgeous things there are in the world, be it from any source; minds, hands, mouths, hearts, bodies, nature, space, everywhere.

I want to keep things I find here, share things of my own, meet people, find new things, and create something great. I hope you too find something here that makes you feel like you could do anything you've ever wanted.

I hope you had a merry Christmas as I did even with part of my family elsewhere around the world.

Now, I'm excited and scared for a new beginning, but I need it, bring on the new year!
